Black Bird

Collage about death by and with Anna Windmüller

Anna Windmüller, actress in the DNT's ensemble, has been preoccupied with telling stories about death since her performance in a palliative care ward. Based on this experience, she has developed a collage of texts by Maxie Wander, Ruth Picardie and Robert Seethaler, among others. In doing so, she links to another project of the DNT, the play development Sensemann & Söhne by director and author Jan Neumann and his ensemble.

Although life is unthinkable without its inevitable end (at least for the moment), Walter Benjamin's wise aphorism holds true: "For people as they are today there is only one radical novelty, and that is always the same: Death". How we deal with it, whether it makes us more courageous or more fearful of life – Anna Windmüller invites us in this evening to shed light on one of the great social taboos.
