About one of the festivities on the fringes of the Congress of Vienna we read: "After the departure of the sovereigns, the orchestras began to play waltzes. Immediately an electric movement seemed to communicate itself to the whole countless assembly. As soon as the first bars were heard, the facial expressions cleared, the eyes became animated, a tremor of delight trickled through everyone." For our audience at the turn of the year, we have selected the most beautiful, lively and witty of the countless waltz and polka highlights of the Viennese Strauss family - including moments of surprise! As a counterpoint, the dramatically agitated and naturally highly virtuosic Third Piano Concerto from the pen of Ludwig van Beethoven will be heard - a self-confessed non-dancer, by the way, who loved to get his listeners rhythmically and emotionally out of step all the more. Music with a spark of genius!
